Institute for Procurement Excellence opens |

Manila, Philippines - An educational institution and a technology company broke new ground as they formed the first Philippine research and development organization for procurement and sourcing. |

Procurement services company TransProcure and Ateneo the Center for Continuing Education (CCE) created the Procurement and Sourcing Institute of Asia (PASIA) through a memorandum of agreement (MOA). |

PASIA is seen to be the Asian hub for procurement research and development. The institute is also focused on becoming a center for excellence in the areas of training and best practices. |

Despite the sluggish state of the economy, the market has become more competitive. Managed procurement and sourcing is touted to be an effective tool for increasing a company?s efficiency, and thus its competitiveness in the market. |

In addition, PASIA will be affiliated with the national procurement of the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong and eventually the rest of Asia. |

The organizations signed the MOA at the Ateneo CCE‘s facility in Makati City on May 23. |
